The first thing you notice about Heat is that in spite being over 12 years old, the film barely feels dated. Technically, it still looks like it could have been made yesterday. However, Heat is bound to blow you away simply because two of the finest actors of our times, Al Pacino and Robert De Niro collide.
Story of two men with similar ideals but on different sides of the law may seem like your run of the mill thriller. For most part, it is but Michel Mann makes sure that there’s a lot more to it than meets the eye. Amazing cinematography (perhaps the only film maker who can shoot city lights like this), glorious shoot outs (arguably the best in cinematic history) and two dynamic actors playing cat and mouse.
2 hours and 51 minutes but has to be one of the most entertaining heist/crime thrillers ever.
