Bridge Over Troubled Waters
If you’ve been following the news lately, you’re probably aware of the uproar over the Sethusamudram Project and the subsequent fallout. For the uninitiated, the project aims to create a shipping canal between India and Srilanka through the island chain called Rama’s Bridge (Adam’s Bridge to the angrezis). Dig canal-connect countries. Fairly simple isn’t it? [...]

This piece of news is perhaps the best I’ve heard in a while; mostly because it’s just plain hilarious.
http://www.ibnlive.com/news/india/06_2007/cia-helped-in-toppling-communist-govt-in-kerala-43293.html
Ellsworth Bunker, an American diplomat has revealed that the CIA financed Congress led agitations against the Communist government when EMS came into power back in 1957 in Kerala. That’s right. The CIA actually thought the Kerala Government would [...]

Who Is Pratibha Patil?
http://www.ibnlive.com/news/politics/06_2007/pratibha-patil-congs-best-candidate-last-option-42930.html
Apparently, Pratibha Patil is touted to be the next Indian President. I’ve been away from Indian news for little over a week and out of nowhere comes a new candidate.
I agree it’s a nice change from listening to people go on about how Kalam was a great president and how he should return and all, [...]

Amway or the Highway?
Anybody could use a little extra money. That’s what this friend said when he came up to me with a proposal regarding Amway. I’d heard a lot about it (mostly just allegations of it being a cult, blah blah) and I had assumed it to be just a glorified pyramid scheme. So I sat and listened to [...]

Earth V2.0
Alright, so of the 200 odd ‘planets’ discovered over the years, one could actually be inhabitable. GL 581C (weird name, yes), just outside our solar system apparently has conditions that can support life. It’s pretty amazing.
But here’s the problem; it’s 20.5 light years away which means that if you actually manage to travel at the [...]

Children of Men
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Children_of_men
I can’t really remember when I last had any hope, and I certainly can’t remember when anyone else did either. Because really, since women stopped being able to have babies, what’s left to hope for?
I’m a cynic. I believe that a 100 years from now, chances that mankind will cease to exist are huge. Think [...]

Morality? Define Please…
What exactly are these so called ‘Moral Values’ that so many self righteous pretentious hypocrites of our country keep touting? Really?
This is a long due post. It will not arrive at any conclusions and it will not do anything about the ’situation at hand’. Like most passive youngsters (!), I cannot do anything about it [...]

300
It is not a question of what a Spartan citizen SHOULD do, nor a husband, nor a king, instead ask yourself, my dearest love, what should a free man do.
I know I’m beating a dead horse here but, after finally watching 300, I do agree that the film was American propaganda at it’s best [...]

Vision 2020: The Trilogy
http://www.eventsbangalore.net/2007/03/21/vision2020-theatre-performance/
I just got back from a massive stage production conducted by Christ College, Bangalore and Script People’s Theater called Vision 2020: The Trilogy. Now, over four years of college, we were subjected to plays that never deviated from the usual nativity/crucification/revival plot lines and so this was a welcome change.
I’m still unsure as to what [...]

So what’s more likely? That an all-powerful, mysterious God created the Universe, and decided not to give any proof of his existence? Or, that He simply doesn’t exist at all, and that we created Him, so that we wouldn’t have to feel so small and alone? -Eleanor Arroway (Contact)
Almost 6 years back, I went through [...]
